(Where is the) Philippine Consulate in Dubai…
The Philippine consulate has shifted to a new location and I ought to let everyone know. I would also like to tell everyone what a pain in the @$$ it has been trying to find the old consulate and fortunately for us, the new location is ALSO a pain in the @$$. To the consulate people, you are the only ones who know where the location is. I personally have gone to Ghusais and it is such a shame that you will be getting this location. So much for the tax money being paid to the government, they can’t even pay for our consulate office to get a more decent place. Why can’t you guys get a place in Karama like the Lebanese Embassy & South African Embassy. Are you guys saving on budget so much that you are to be found in the most remotest of location? The old embassy location was like a run down villa, no wonder you are getting power problems. Here is the article below:
I am sorry to say that the area where the embassy is near a residential area and labor camp. Although there are 5 buses going there, it would be the worst ride you’d go to. Buses 13 are the worst buses around poor air conditioning and always full of laborers. Taxi rides will cost you more than 20Dhs from Deira alone. I’m sorry to say but they assessed wrongly again about this area. I wish to help, but I just can’t help but criticize as well.
I betcha somebody overpriced the moving cost. hehe *wink

I agree with everything you have written in your blog. It’s a shame that our Consulate is located in this remote area while some other Consulates are located in a decent area. I just passed by the Sudanese Embassy and I envy their location, how neat the area is and smooth transactions happening, no chaos at all. While our Consulate is like a squatter area in Dubai. Shame, shame, shame…
I tried to locate the area through Google and know the contact number. Even the telephone details are not correct! I called the customer service of Etisalat and was given the correct contact details, but WTF, no one is ansewring the dumb phone!!! I’m so frustrated, I think i dialed the number 20 times (yes, that’s how desperate I am to contact them.)
The consulate people are all pain in the A$$@#!

Hello, I’m living here in Karama and I want to go to our consulate, ask ko lang po what bus # should i take?

Rene,
My recommendation is you take bus number 3 to get there. Go to Bank street or opposite/front of the South African Consulate. You can take the bus from there to Ghusais. Bus 13 is another bus that goes there but that comes from Deira Gold Souq.

You should have an idea how it works. It should be the same for all emirates in the UAE, the only thing is locating the correct police station or Police Head Quarters.
